OVERVIEW:
This project claims , according to the text of Martin
Heidegger "Building , dwelling,
thinking" that , first, the act of building is, in itself, already to inhabit.
Secondly, it is postulated that the individual is to the extent that he inhabits.
The dwelling is the Self of the
individual. This act of building and living takes place in a space. An
individual occupies a space and makes it his own through this double act
previously mentioned. The relationship with this space is, however, contingent
and problematic when migrating to another geographic territory. The aim of this
project is the appropriation of a strange space through a series of
installations, in which the act of building is involved as a practical, as well
as an aesthetic fact. Only by building in this space, I may inhabit it. Only by
inhabiting this space, I may be in
this space.
The following pictures are the first ideas I was able to draw, according to this overview. During the next posts, I'll be talking about the fundamentals of every installation in particular, its source of inspiration and how I intend to complete each one of them.
